SOUTH CAROLINA- Carolyn L. Tebbetts, 80, formerly of the Pine Point section of Springfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Hope Arbor Assisted living in Loris, South Carolina. Carolyn had moved to Longs, South Carolina and had resided with her daughter these past few years. Born in Springfield on January 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Doris (Emery) Lambert. She grew up in Springfield, attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School. Upon graduation, Carolyn went to work for the City of Springfield at the Springfield Libraries and Museums Quadrangle. She worked in many roles throughout the years, as an Office clerk, Bookkeeper and in Acquisitions. Whatever the Libraries and Museums needed, Carolyn filled that role faithfully for 37 years. She married her husband, Charles Tebbetts on October 1, 1955 and they settled in Pine Point to raise their family. Working and raising a family was a full time job, but they always found time to relax and enjoy life, especially bowling in local leagues in their earlier years. Her husband, Charles passed in 1975 and after his passing she moved to Westfield and then Longs, South Carolina with her daughter. She was a communicant of the Diocese of Springfield, worshipping at Our Lady of Sacred Heart, then former St. Matthews Church in the Orchard and later Sacred Heart Church on Chestnut Street.  Carolyn leaves her daughter with whom she made her home, Judith Perigord and her husband Richard of Longs, SC. and a son, Gary Tebbetts and his wife Jean and their children, Charles and Emily Grace of Delmar, NY. She is also survived by a sister, Linda Trout and her husband Will of Ontario, NY. A niece, Heather and her husband Roger and a nephew, Kevin and his wife Adriane. Calling hours for Carolyn will be held on Monday morning at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 9-10:45 a.m. followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, 840 Page Boulevard, Spfld. The Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1237 Berkshire Ave. in Indian Orchard.  Donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Rd., #200, Framingham, Massachusetts 01701
