Achille R. Provencal

Achille R. Provencal, 94, passed peacefully on February 24 at Wingate of East Longmeadow. Archille affictionaly known has "Archie "was born in Ware, MA to late Zephir Provencal and Celina Burgault.  Archie was a union Carpenter with Local 108 for over 69 years. He was the oldest member of the union and was proud of it. Archie was a charter member of the Ludlow Elks lodge # 2448. He also served as the head Custodian for the Birchland Park middle school for over 10years. Archie loved his family and and was a very hard working man who provided for their every need. He leaves to cherish his memory his three step sons Robert and his wife Dot, Richard and Allen Derouin; Four brothers Edgar, Elthege, Fredrick and Andre Provencal; Five sisters Loretta Labshire, Florences Giroux, Constance Lagrant, Jeanne Sokolowski and Bernadette La Grant; Four Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday morning March 1 beginning at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street Indian Orchard at 8:45AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Elizabeth Church 191 Hubbard Street, Ludlow. Burial will follow at Island Pond Cemetery Ludlow. Friends and Family are invited to calling hours on Monday from 4Pm -7 Pm at the Funeral Home.
