Andreica Muradian 1937-2010 INDIAN ORCHARD, Andreica Muradian was born Andreica Craciuneanu in Constanza, Romania in 1937. Andreica was the youngest of 7 children born to loving parents. Her mother Sanda, father Marin and grandparents were well to do farmers and land owners but lost everything due to the government takeover by the Fascists in World War II. As a young woman, Andreica experienced the rise of Romanian Fascism and the devastation of the war to her country. Andreica was in a dance troupe as a young woman where she traveled all over Romania with the group. At the age of 22, Andreica fell in love and married Hazaros Muradian, an ethnic Armenian whose parents had survived the Armenian Genocide. Andreica and Hazaros bought a home in Constanza and started a family. For many arduous years, Andreica dedicated her life to raising her family under the repression of Ceausescu's Romanian Communist regime. In 1971, with tremendous risk and sacrifice, Andreica with her family courageously fled from Romania to Beirut, Lebanon as political refugees. After six months in Beirut, Andreica and her family successfully negotiated asylum in the United States of America. Andreica and Hazaros brought their family to Springfield, MA. The Armenian community in Indian Orchard warmly embraced Andreica, Hazaros and their family. With help from the Armenian community, Andreica and her family were able to begin a new life in Springfield. Andreica had a successful career as a hairdresser at Creative Touch hair salon. Andreica was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very passionate, generous, yet tenacious woman. Andreica is survived by her son Florin, daughter Carmen, daughter Claudia and son-in-law Scott Brubach and grandchildren David and Steven Muradian, Jeffrey, Michael and Samantha Hervieux and Taline, Van and Aren Brubach.
