Arshever Derderian 1927-2010 INDIAN ORCHARD - Arshever "Arkie" Derderian, 82, of Indian Orchard died peacefully at home. He lived a life without regrets or complaints. Arkie was an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked at companies such as Chapman Valve and Monsanto Chemical Co. But his true love was music. Arkie was an accomplished master of the oud, violin, mandolin and dumbag, playing middle-eastern and Armenian music his whole life. He was also a great teacher. Arkie leaves his beloved daughter Susan Joseph and her husband Michael of Granby, CT, his son Arthur of Somers, CT, his beautiful and loyal granddaughters Maria Nikolis of Athens, Greece, Eleni Mendez and her husband Pedro of Somers, CT, and Christina Krzywicki and her husband Peter also of Somers, CT and last but not least his magnificent great grandsons Nicholas, Gregory and Little Peter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 11 a.m. A calling hour will precede the services from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield.
