Barbara A. Martins1937-2013INDIAN ORCHARD- Barbara A. (Moquin) Martins, 75, a lifelong Indian Orchard resident, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the home of her loving and devoted daughter, Tina. She was born in Burlington, VT on July 10, 1937, the daughter of the late Arnold and Helena (Hammond) Moquin. Barbara was a communicant of St. Jude Church, Indian Orchard. She enjoyed making quilts, but loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband, Vincente D. Martins; five children, Thomas A. Martins and his wife Susan, Bill J. Martins and his wife Donna, Tina M. Martins, Mark A. Martins and his wife Jane, and Matthew V. Martins; a chosen daughter, Laurie Therrien; three brothers, Richard Moquin, Thomas Moquin and his wife Sandy, and Gary Moquin and his wife Nancy; 12 grandchildren including her special angel and love of her life, Tony; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara's family would like to thank the staff at the Sister Mary Caritas Cancer Center for the love, compassion and care they had given to Barbara and her family. Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Thursday, February 14th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., Springfield. Rites of Committal and burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard. Barbara's family will receive friends at the gathering on Wednesday, February 13th from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
