Bernard Lee Baldwin

October 19, 1942 — July 28, 2008

Bernard Lee Baldwin 1942-2008   Lee Baldwin, 65, of Springfield passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer.  Lee was born in Springfield, son to Miriam June (Felton) Cooney and the late William H. Cooney.  He was a graduate of Tech High School and attended American International College and Western New England College.  He worked almost 30 years with "The Hope Group" in Northborough, MA as a sales engineer.  He was also an Army Reservist veteran during the Vietnam War.  Lee was an avid golfer and sports fan. He loved the Yankees and Patriots. He loved his many trips to the casinos and enjoyed walking the beach. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Thomas) Baldwin for 41 years. Cherished by his children Sandra Frates and son-in-law John Frates, his son Timothy Baldwin and 2 grandchildren Jordan and Maya Baldwin. He also is survived by his brother Richard A. Baldwin and mother Miriam June (Felton) Cooney, his beloved aunt Thel and uncle El and family including very dear friends and golfing buddies; his dear brother and sister-in-laws Lorraine and Zeke Hooper and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard on Thursday, July 31, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the Ratell Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield.  Donations in his name may be given to Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA  01104.
