Beverly B. Foisy

October 7, 1931 — August 11, 2020

Beverly Brewster (Bliss) Foisy, 88 of Ludlow peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August, 11, 2020.  Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of Doris (Pierce) Bliss and Raymond Bliss.  She took great pride in her heritage of being a descendant of Elder William Brewster, who sailed to New England on the Mayflower in 1620. Beverly and her husband, Richard A. Foisy, moved to Ludlow in 1956 and established Red Bridge Farm (later renamed to Good Luck Farm), primarily for boarding and training horses.  They founded The Horseman's Yankee Pedlar newspaper, serving the greater Northeast equine industry from 1962-1979.  Beverly also loved working in retail for Steiger's Department store for many years. Always an entrepreneur, Beverly's last endeavor was founding Horse Country USA, which merchandised equine apparel, artwork, jewelry and all things horse related.  Beverly was also an accomplished equestrian with the greatest respect and appreciation of horses.  She was a gifted artist and lifelong learner, having discovered her creative abilities as a child.  In adulthood, Beverly continued to produce art through drawing, painting and creating stained glass pieces.   Beverly enjoyed laughing and being around people and enjoyed nothing more than attending gatherings with her family and friends. Beverly's husband, Richard, passed away in June 2018, whom she was married to for 67 years.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Raymond and Charles Bliss and sister Edythe Smith.  She leaves her beloved sons Philip P. Foisy and his wife, Antonia Golinski-Foisy of Ludlow, MA, John R. Foisy of Houston, TX, her beloved grandchildren, Katelan Foisy of Chicago, IL, Brittany Foisy of Ludlow, MA, Nicole Foisy of Houston, TX, Rachael Skelly of Ludlow, MA and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Tyler of Ludlow, MA and Nicholas and Maya Willtz of Houston, TX.  Beverly leaves many nieces, nephews and family friends of long standing. Beverly bravely faced the long journey through dementia and Alzheimer's and was lovingly cared for by her in-home companions.

Due to current global events, there will be no services.  A Celebration of Beverly's life will be held at a future date. Ratell Funeral Home, Indian Orchard is entrusted with arrangements.
