Claire M. Mayou

Claire M. Mayou1934-2014Ludlow- Claire M. (Stebbins) Mayou, 80, of Ludlow, was accepted into Gods loving arms with her devoted family by her side on Monday, October 13, 2014. Born in Ludlow, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Etienette (Lemieux) Stebbins. She was a devoted communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, was a member of St. Anne's Society, and sang in Harolds of the Lord choir for over 25 years.  She loved to bake and decorate cakes and enjoyed gardening. Claire leaves her loving husband of 61 years, Donald K. Mayou Sr., which whom she loved traveling, spending winters in Aruba, and being his assistant beekeeper.   Claire also leaves her six loving children, Donald K. Mayou, Jr. and his wife Abby of Worcester, Nancy A. Mayou and Ruth Nave of North Carolina, David F. Mayou and his wife Diane of Belchertown, Diane Netherton and her husband Mark of Ludlow, Brian Mayou of Anson, ME, and Lisa Groth and her husband John of Monson; four sisters, Christine, Theresa, Alice, and Betty; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Claire was predeceased by her brother Theodore and her sisters Lena, Rita, Irene, Stella, and Julia. She will greatly be missed by all that loved her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 starting at 9am at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St, Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Elizabeth's Church, 181 Hubbard St, Ludlow. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 17th from 5-7pm. Burial will be at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
