Craig W. Powers

INDIAN ORCHARD - Craig W. Powers, 81, of Indian Orchard passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Craig was born in Hartford, CT. on April 14, 1938, the son of the late William F. & Eva (Lindwall) Powers. He lived in Windsor, CT. and eventually moved to Springfield, MA where he attended local schools. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a Sonarman from 1956 to 1962 and was honorably discharged and returned home. Craig was a retired locksmith and worked for Serv-U Hardware in Springfield for many years. Most recently he worked for Hulmes Transportation Services as a driver in the disabled transportations division. His interests included vacationing, collecting gadgets, spending time doing things on the computer, and following all of the local sports teams.

Most of all Craig loved spending quality time with his family, his dog Zoey, and especially his granddaughters Madelyn and Megan with whom he lived with. He leaves behind his beloved wife; Bonnie (Parkyn) Powers. His sons; Craig of New York, Steven of Agawam, and William of CT. His daughters; Julie and Jennifer Powers both of Springfield. His siblings; Stephen S. Powers, Jacquelyn E. Rodinis both of Naples, FL. and Deborah E. Castellanos of Savage, MN. His numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.

Craig's ashes will be interred with US Navy honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at a later date. At Craig's request all services will be private.
