Cyril O. Tessier 1921-2008 Cyril O. Tessier, 87, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 31, 2008. He joins his loving wife of 57 years, Bessie and their two sons, Paul and Robert, resting in eternal tranquility. Cyril is survived by his adoring daughter, Annette MacAdams and her husband Richard of North Attleboro. He also leaves two brothers, Steve Tessier of Springfield and Arsene Tessier of Canada and three sisters, Margaret Brochu of Chicopee, Monica Graveline of Three Rivers and Clothilde Tessier of Springfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Dennis, Clement, Ralph, Lucien, Gerard and sisters, Gabrielle, Victoire and Frances. Born in St. Bonaventure, Quebec, Canada, Cyril was proud of earning the right to become a U. S. Citizen after honorably serving in the U. S. Army during World War II for four years, two and a half of those years in India. He worked as a power engineer and retired from the General Fiber Box Company more than 20 years ago. After his retirement he shared his passion for the art of origami by teaching classes to schoolchildren throughout the area for the remaining years of his life. He was a member of Origami USA, an organization that honored him for his contributions to the art at a recent Annual Convention in New York City. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from the Ratell Funeral Home at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church 221 Main St., Indian Orchard at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.
