David J. Blais

David J. Blais, 59, of Chudy Street in Palmer passed away peacefully on Friday Nov. 20, 2020 at his home. David was born in Ludlow on January 12, 1961. He graduated from Ludlow High School and enlisted in the USAF, serving two years before returning home.  He began a long career in the HVAC field as an installation and troubleshooting technician. He worked for many years at Westover Air Base, McCormick Alum, and TJ Conway Co. before retiring. He was a union member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 104.

David loved the outdoors any time of year, whether fishing and swimming with his children or snowmobiling with friends in Quebec. He enjoyed trips to Maine with his family. One of his favorite vacations was to Kaui, Hawaii where he spent his days snorkeling and soaking up the sun. He was a diehard hockey fan and loved the Bruins. He loved reading, especially Steven King novels and books about the sea. Dave also loved jamming to loud music on the stereo and enjoyed many concerts in his youth.

David was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Olivette and a sister, Therese Gubola. He leaves his beloved children; Olivia, Julia, and Joseph, and their mother Bonnie; his sisters; Jeanne Blais-Cheyunski of Southwick and Adrienne Landry of Venice, FL and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog, Ginger and many good friends. The family invites you to join them for calling hours on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. NOON. Burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery will be at a later date.
