David J. Scott

November 2, 1945 — September 14, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing our beloved brother and friend David J. Scott of
Springfield, MA. David passed peacefully on September 14, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center.
David was born November 2, 1945, to John and Rose Scott of Springfield. They moved to Belchertown where David spent most of early life, and he went onto graduate from Belchertown High School class of 1965.
Let it be known that David, born with Cerebral Palsy, faced his challenges head on and never let his
affliction hold him back. He worked with dedication and commitment in every aspect of his life.
He worked for many years at Johnson Foils and in his later years worked delivering meals for Meals on
Wheels, a position he held near and dear to his heart, as helping and lending an ear to those in need
reflected the challenges he faced and courageously conquered in his own journey.
He was a committed husband to Irene (Roberge) Scott and father to Christopher and Jeffrey. He was
predeceased by Irene and Christopher and leaves behind his beloved Sister Jackie (Larry) McKendry,
Brothers John (Jody) Scott and Steve (Kim) Scott, along with nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
David spent the last year and a half at The Wellington Assisted Living facility in Springfield and the family
would like to thank all the wonderful staff and residents that made this final chapter so comfortable,
inclusive, warm and safe. In addition, thanks to the Staff and Medical Professionals at Fallon Health and
the Pace Program for providing exemplary care.
We wish David Peace and Joy!
