Donna M. Duval, 65, of Westover Rd. in Chicopee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a brief battle with cancer. Donna was born in Chicopee, daughter of Donald Duval of Springfield and the late Doris (Duffany) Duval. She attended Springfield Schools and her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the Elms College in Chicopee. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1991. She achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant, serving with the 439 Westover Reserve Air Base as an Aircraft Guidance & Control Specialist. She was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. She was honorably discharged in 2004, receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Reserve medal with Bronze Star, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Air Force Longevity Medal. Donna worked as a Lab Technician briefly and then completed her certification after a lengthy training in Massage Therapy. She owned and operated Magic Hands Therapeutic Massage in Chicopee for many years before retiring. Donna was predeceased by her mother, Doris Duval in 2021. She leaves her father; Donald K. Duval of Springfield and her siblings; Danyl R. Duval and his wife Karen of Washington State and Kenneth D. Duval of Florida. Her nieces and nephews; Matthew, Nicole and Kelsie and great nephews; Cole and Lucas. She also leaves many dear family and friends including Leah Laflamme, Tina Douillard, M.J. Tash and Theresa Hamilton who were with her throughout her illness. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 11:00 TO 12:00 NOON AT THE CHURCH. INTERMENT OF HER ASHES WITH USAF HONORS WILL FOLLOW AT 2:00 P.M.
