Donna Jean (Cochran) St. John of Indian Orchard, age 74, passed away on December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and with her daughter Karen holding her hand. She was born on August 2, 1950, in Holyoke to her late parents, Delmar Graden and Phyllis Ann (Kelly) Cochran. Donna graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School and soon after married the love of her life, Kenneth Raymond St. John in January 1970. They were married 38 years until his passing in 2008. She belonged to St. Aloysius and then St. Jude. She worked for many years at United Plumbing Supply and then Lenox Tools and Saw in East Longmeadow. Donna enjoyed reading, watching Tiny Kitten Rescue channel on YouTube, and British shows on PBS, and most of all spending time with her family. Her favorite movie was To Kill a Mockingbird. She loved traveling to Walt Disney World with her extended family and other places. She loved seeing everyone at the family Christmas Eve gathering and other family events. Donna was an organ donor and donated a kidney to her husband. She loved and supported her whole family and was always willing to help.
Donna is predeceased by her parents, her husband Kenneth, her brother William Cochran who was an infant, her sister Kathy DeCaro, her sisters-in-law Joan McGrady, Charlene St. John, and Barbara Nevue, and her brothers-in-law Donald St. John, John McGrady, and Ulderico DeCaro. She is survived by her daughters Lori Ann and Karen Marie St. John of Indian Orchard, her brother Stephen Cochran of Feeding Hills, her sister Cheryl Hurley of Granby, her sisters-in-law Shirley, Cynthia, and Nancy St. John, and her beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews whom she loved very, very much. A special thank you goes out to Nephew Anthony and Aunt Shirley for all the help they have given.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Ratell Funeral Home at 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with Rites of Committal at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Cemetery on Berkshire Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the family.
