Doris M. Snyder 1933 - 2009 Ludlow - Doris M. (Blais) Snyder, 75, died at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 9, 2009. She was born in Ludlow on December 31, 1933, a daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Fontaine) Blais. She attended local schools and was a fifty three year Ludlow resident and communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. She was a former eight year Indian Orchard resident. She retired after twenty two years of service from the Dielectrics Industries of Chicopee. Doris will be remembered as a caring, giving, unselfish person who faced many health challenges head on and always kept a positive outlook. Her life centered around her beloved family, her grandchildren, and her friends. She was the wife of the late Charles Snyder who died in 2004. She is survived by her two sons, Donald and his wife Bettina of Ludlow, and Michael and his wife Tracey of Georgia, her daughter, Linda Truelove and her companion, Bill Pooler of Springfield. She also leaves two brothers, Roland Blais of Washington state, and Gerard Blais of Indian Orchard, and two sisters, Lucille Fontaine of Indian Orchard, and Rita Nowak of Chicopee. She will be sadly missed by three grandsons, Erik, Ryan, and Tyler, several nieces and nephews, and special family members, John and Kathy Guz of Ludlow. Funeral services are Tuesday, April 14 at 8am from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am at St. John the Baptist Church, Hubbard St., Ludlow. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, April 13 from 4 - 8pm.
