Earl P. Preissler1924-2012Indian Orchard- Earl Paul Preissler passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was born in Holyoke on September 23, 1924 the son of Paul and Louise (Kroll) Preissler. Earl lived all of his life in Springfield, the last 50 years in Indian Orchard. He worked for 25 years at the former A&P Bakery and retired as head custodian after 10 years at East Longmeadow High School. Earl served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class during WWII. He received the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal. Earl was a member of the American Legion Post 277. He leaves his beloved wife, June M. (Dudley) Scott -Preissler; a daughter, Rosina Goodrich and her husband Forrest; a step-son, Paul Scott; three step-daughters, Phyllis Bamford and her husband Albert, Debbie Leonardo, and Valerie Trimboli; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 11 a.m. in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Earl's memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 34 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
