Edna C. Brando (Bowers)

Edna C. Brando (Bowers) 1922-2009   Edna C. Brando (Bowers), 87, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.  A Springfield resident for the past 65 years, she was employed for 35 years for the City of Springfield as a Community Health Nurse. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Merle (Eastman) Crane.  Edna was an active member of the Orchard Covenant Church and loved to teach knitting. Edna leaves her children, Robert Bowers and his wife Linda of Agawam, her daughter, Laurie Ann Bowers-Kane and her husband John of Murrieta, CA; her daughter-in-law, Wendy Bowers of Belchertown; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Richard D. Bowers in 2008. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4 to 7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 in the Orchard Covenant Church 95 Berkshire St., Indian Orchard at 10 a.m.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
