Elizabeth R. Mcnamara

Elizabeth R. "Betty" McNamara, 101, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Heritage Hall West in Agawam. Betty was born over a century ago on December 16, 1919 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Roy E. and Ruth Ann (Jacobs) Boslet. She grew up in Altoona, attending and graduating from Catholic schools. Betty married Robert P. McNamara and they traveled the United States while he served with the Army Air Corp. Betty and Bob moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1947 and then to Grand Island, NY in 1957.  Betty graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Teaching Degree. She taught at Our Lady of the Rosary in Niagara Falls, NY and at Stella Niagara in Lewiston, NY. from 1962 to 1982. Betty and Bob moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1995 and enjoyed many years there before Bob's passing in 2007. Betty moved back to Massachusetts in 2015 to be near family. She leaves her beloved son; Glenn McNamara and his wife Nancy of Indian Orchard. She also leaves four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also leaves her dear brother; Donald Boslet of Lewiston, NY. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her brother, Irvine J. Boslet. There are no calling hours. At Betty's request, she will be cremated and interred alongside her beloved husband in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Grand Island, New York.
