Elizabeth B. Wiencek 1923-2011 HAMPDEN- Elizabeth "Betty" B. (Bean) Wiencek, 88, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in Wingate at Hampden. She was born in Constable, NY, on May 19, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Hazel A. (Taylor) Bean. Elizabeth graduated from Malone High School in Malone, NY in 1941, and worked as a waitress for 18 years at various restaurants in the Springfield area. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Springfield, and a former member of the Lady's Club. Elizabeth was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club in Agawam, West Springfield and Hampden. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence P. Wiencek in 2001; and her son, Lawrence P. Wiencek Jr. in 2010. Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Chiodo and her husband Vincent "Bob" of Florida, and Laureen M. Bell and her husband Thomas R. of Springfield; a daughter-in-law, Carole Wiencek of Hopewell, VA; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Harold Bean, Gerald Bean, Catherine Eppler and Joyce McCarthy, all of New York, and Barbara Burnell of Florida; her close friends, Gloria, Franie, and Freddie; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14th beginning at 8:45 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 main St., Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St. with Rites of Committal to follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., both in Springfield. Elizabeth's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Wednesday, July 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
