Frances E. Goodreau

January 17, 1923 — January 1, 2018

LUDLOW-Frances E. (Daly) Goodreau, 94, of Ludlow, entered into eternal peace on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, surrounded by her family.  Daughter of William F. Daly and Evelyn F. Daly, she was born on January 17, 1923 in West Springfield MA.  She was a resident of Ludlow and worked for over 40 years first at the Ludlow Mills at Sickles Manufacturing and then spent most of her career working at Ludlow Hospital until she retired.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and cooking for her very large family but she enjoyed most of all being with her family playing games.  She was a wonderful card player and made many friends while living on Wilson St. in Ludlow.  Her sense of humor and ability to take life in stride was one of her greatest strengths.  Her greatest joy was being mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her 11 children, their loving spouses, and their wonderful children.  She is predeceased by her husband, Albert, her son, Albert "Buddy", her daughter Beverly, and her son, Gordie.  She is survived by her daughter Jeanette Veroneau & Tom, her daughter Louise Janitis & husband Mario, her son Jim & wife Sandy, her daughter in law Mary, her son Larry & wife Dolly, her daughter Donna Ingelis & husband Victor, her son Charlie & wife Jackie, her daughter Toni Owens & husband Michael, and her daughter Mabel Charron & husband Rob.  She leaves her many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who will remember her loving care and gentle spirit.  A special thank you to her niece, Lauren Davis, for her unwavering love and care.  The Goodreau Family did not have a vast fortune, but, we are all wealthy beyond compare thanks to the love we all have been given by our mother and for each other.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard with a Prayer Service at 3:00 p.m. conducted by her grandson, Deacon Michael Goodreau.  A celebration of her life will follow on Sunday afternoon and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the Goodreau family.  As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA. 01104.
