Frank Kozaczka passed away peacefully on his 76th birthday, August 10, 2025 at his home in Montgomery, MA surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Springfield Massachusetts to his late parents Frank and Viola (Grimshaw) Kozaczka, he went to Saint Matthew’s grammar school, Ludlow High School, and STCC for a short time before realizing he was going to be drafted. He joined the United States Navy and spent four years in Kunia, Oahu, Hawaii. He achieved the rank of E-5 DP-2 and received the National Defense Service Metal and the First Good Conduct Award Metal while serving in the Navy.
At the end of those four years, he became a Massachusetts state trooper and served for 33 years. While he was a trooper, he worked on the CAT team, in the Motorcycle Unit, and retired with the rank of Sergeant.
Frank loved classic cars, his favorite being his 1955 red Crown Victoria, and he also loved fast motorcycles. He attended many local car shows over the years, but his favorites were the spring and fall Carlisle and Hershey, Pa, and spring and fall Turkey Run in Daytona Beach Florida. He also attended Americade Motorcycle rally in Lake George, New York, where he built a summer house and spent several years riding through the Adirondacks with his wife, Karen.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife Karen (Sharon) of 54 years, a sister Diane Saloio and her husband Ray , a brother Michael and his fiancé Karen Roy, a daughter Cynthia, and a grandson, Mason Little, all of Ludlow Massachusetts. He’s also survived by many nieces, nephews, and three grand nephews.
Calling Hours are Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 4 to 6 PM at the Ratell Funeral Home at 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard, Massachusetts. The funeral will be private for the immediate family only.
