Frederick C. Burek

SPRINGFIELD- Frederick "Fred" C. Burek, 84, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Chicopee on July 24, 1927, a son of the late Kazmierz and Stanislawa (Stopinski) Burek. Fred was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Springfield. He retired from Smith & Wesson, and was co-owner of the former Clover Café (it was on the corner of Main and Alfred Streets, Springfield) for 26 years with his parents. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife, Marie T. (Kielbania) Burek on December 25, 2011; and a brother, Stanley Burek. He is survived by a step-son, David W. Roulston Sr. and his wife Jane of Ludlow; three step-grandchildren, David Roulston Jr., Elizabeth Roulston, and Rebecca Moreau; and eight step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24th beginning at 8:15 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., Springfield. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard.
