Frieda O. Dupuis

Frieda O. Dupuis 1927-2011 SPRINGFIELD- Frieda O. (Gluth) Dupuis of Springfield, while surrounded by her family passed away at home on June 23, 2011, after a short illness.  She was born in Germany on July 8, 1927.  She and her husband owned "Mike's Place and the Colonial Market" in Springfield from 1958 through 1973.  From 1973 until she retired in 1996, she worked for SSS vending as a supervisor. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph G. Dupuis in January 1985.  She leaves her son Roland & wife Joan of Florence and daughter Anita Butler & husband Bernard of Springfield; two grandsons, Timothy & wife Jill of Longmeadow and Christopher & wife Maryann of West Hartford; and three great grandchildren; Thomas (TJ), Lily and Benjamin. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Main St., with Rites of Committal in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., all in Indian Orchard. Frieda's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Sunday, June 26th from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Frieda's family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Frieda's memory to a cancer charity of one's choice.
