Gary Goldberg

Gary Goldberg 1946-2009   Gary Goldberg, 62, of Springfield, passed away in the loving presence of his family at home on Saturday, February 21, 2009.  Born in Springfield and a life long resident, he was the son of the late Leon N. and Rose A. (Levine) Goldberg.  Gary was a retired Special Police Officer for Baystate Medical Center.  A Vietnam War veteran Gary served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and the ocean.  He loved tinkering with old cars, his pride and joy being his 1969 Cutlass Oldsmobile as well as attending car shows.  He leaves his wife of (41) years, Linda Ann (Machabee) Goldberg; his son, David L. Goldberg and his wife Tina of East Longmeadow; his two daughters; Sima S. Figueriedo of Springfield; Rosemarie A. DeJordy and her husband Daryl of Monson; six grandchildren; Gary, Linda, Katie, Aligia Rose, Amber and Nathan; his sister; Rita Rothchild of New Jersey and his mother-in-law, Lucile Lapinskas of Glastonbury, CT.  He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Goldberg.   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 11 a.m.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  For Directions & Guest Book visit:ratellfuneralhome.com.
