SPRINGFIELD – George A. Jolly Sr., 84, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late George J. & Vivian (Dennis) Jolly. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved and cherished his family. He was the owner of George’s Used Appliance in Springfield for many years. He could fix anything and his business thrived on his reputation for fairness and honesty. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping with his family. He was a Novice CB and Ham Radio operator and enjoyed woodworking in the little spare time he had when he wasn’t working. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. George was predeceased by his wife Mary A. (McDevitt) Jolly and his first wife, Marie (LaBroad) Jolly Williams and two sons: Dale A. Lataille and Robert Magiera. He leaves his children; George Jolly Jr. of Spfld., Deborah and husband Daniel Edwards of Spfld., James Magiera and wife Teri of Kentucky, Denise and her late husband Irvin Lanier of Spfld. Michelle and her late husband Willie Pearson of Spfld., Kimberly Magiera of Colorado, Dale R. Jolly of Ware, Marie and her late husband Stephen Tavernier of Spfld, Gidget Jolly of Stafford, Ct., many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended members of the Jolly, McDevitt and LaBroad families.
CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD AT RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD, SUNDAY JAN. 29, 2023 FROM 1:00 TO 4:00 P.M.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, JAN. 30, FROM THE RATELL FUNERAL HOME 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD AT 8:45 A.M., FOLLOWED BY THE LITURGY OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL IN OUR LADY OF THE SACRED HEART CHURCH, SPRINGFIELD AT 10 A.M.
Entombment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum, Springfield.
