George Noel

George E. Noel 1916-2011 PLYMOUTH, MA- George E. Noel, 94, of Plymouth, MA and formerly of East Longmeadow, MA and Palm Harbor, FL, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 29, 2011 in Golden Living Centers in Plymouth. He was born in Ludlow, MA on September 11, 1916 a son of the late Arthur L. and Anna (LaRiviere) Noel. George was a long time employee of Monsanto and retired in 1983 as a Labatory Technician. He was a member of the Chicopee Elks and a member of the Elks and the Moose Club in Florida. George was predeceased by his wife, Esther (Bachand) Noel in 1999; a sister, Irene Martin; and three brothers, Roland, Wilfred, and Homer Noel. He is survived by his two children, Nancy G. Abair and husband Donald of Plymouth, MA, and Edward A. Noel and wife Carol Ann of East Longmeadow, MA; five grandchildren, Vicki, Michael, Erin, James and Dena; a brother, Richard Noel of Sebring, FL; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral ceremonies will be held on Thursday, August 4th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., with a liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Main St., both in Indian Orchard, MA. Rites of Committal and burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd., Springfield, MA. George's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Wednesday, August 3rd from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
