Gertrude L. Hadenchuk1918-2013CHICOPEE- Gertrude L. (Leonard) Hadenchuk, 95, of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at home. She was born in Springfield, where she lived most of her life, a daughter of the late John I. and Mary H. (Cope) Leonard. Gertrude retired after over twenty years of service from the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company Accounting Department. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John G. Hadenchuk on February 27, 1994; a daughter, Helen J. Sampson in 2006; a brother, Jackie I. Leonard Jr.; a sister, Julie Flanders; two granddaughters, Laurie and Lisa; and a great-granddaughter, Lauren. Gertrude is survived by her devoted son, John L. Hadenchuk and his wife Susan of Bolivia, NC; four grandchildren, Jimmy of Springfield, Charlene of Westfield, Roanne and Ross, both of Kansas City; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Humphries of Ludlow, and Edward Humphries of Springfield; three sisters, Norma Berard, Marion Myette, and Claire Duffy, all of Ludlow; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held (THIS AFTERNOON) Friday, November 8th at 1:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Section I, 895 Parker St., Springfield. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gertrude's memory to Life Choice Hospice, 15 Midstate Dr. Auburn, MA 01501.
