Helena "Lena" M. Moquin

Helena M. Moquin 1916-2009   Helena "Lena" M. (Hammond) Moquin, 93, of Indian Orchard, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 in the loving presence of her family.  Born in Burlington, VT, and a long time Indian Orchard resident, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Alice (Croto) Hammond.  Lena was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who cherished her children and adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved to crochet with many of her grandchildren being the recipients of the afghans she made.  Lena was an avid reader but her passion was in playing cards, particularly the game of rummy.  Lena was a communicant of the former St. Matthew's Church, now St. Jude Church of Indian Orchard.  She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold "Captain Moe" Moquin in 1992.  She leaves her children, Barbara Ann Martins and her husband Vincent of Indian Orchard, Richard A. Moquin and his wife Claudia of Springfield, Thomas A. Moquin and his wife Sandra of Ludlow, Gary F. Moquin and his wife Nancy of Indian Orchard; (12) grandchildren; (26) great grandchildren and (2) great great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.
