Imelda M. Larose

Imelda M. "Mel" (Miner) LaRose 1918-2011 LUDLOW- Imelda M. LaRose, age 93, died Thursday December 8, 2011 in her home.  Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Frank and Roseanna (Forkey) Miner, she lived there most of her life.  Imelda was a graduate of Ludlow High School and became the youngest town clerk in the state of Massachusetts when she was employed by the town of Ludlow. She later worked for A. Boilard Lumber Co. in Springfield for 32 years retiring in 1983. Mel was a communicant of both St. Aloysius Church in Indian Orchard and St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow. She was a past treasurer of the Ludlow Golden Agers and also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society.  Imelda was predeceased by her husband Theodore A. LaRose in 1998. She leaves one son Robert T. LaRose and wife Dianne S. of Hampden, two daughters Susan A. Bouchard and husband Paul E. of West Brookfield, Barbara A. Desormier and husband Robert W. of Springfield, two sisters Gladys Bushey and husband Vernon of Chicopee Falls, Dorothy Donohue of Belchertown, 6 grandchildren Aimee Brennan, Michael P. (wife Louise) Bouchard, David S. (wife Margaret) Bouchard, John (wife Sarah) Desormier, Jeffrey Desormier and Christine (husband Robert) Curry, 10 great grandchildren Amanda, Jessica, Erica, Emily Abby, Jack, Emily, Kate, Veronica and Julia. Funeral will be held Monday morning from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard at 9am with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at the Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church on Hubbard St. in Ludlow at 10am. Burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow. Calling hours Sunday 3-7pm. The family wishes to extend heart felt gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Mercy Hospice team of nurses, their Chaplain and counselor for helping Imelda and her family through these past months.
