Jean G. Poirier Fouche 1930-2012 SPRINGFIELD- Jean Marie Patricia (Gaynor) Poirier Fouche, 82, a lifelong Springfield resident, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on January 27, 1930, a daughter of the late John E. and Mable (Rickson) Gaynor. Jean graduated from Cathedral High School, and received her Bachelor's degree in teaching from Westfield State College and her Masters degree from Springfield College. She taught at many Springfield Public Schools and retired after 33 years of service. Jean was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Springfield, and was a long time member of the Catholic Women's Club and a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. She was predeceased by two husbands, Gene C. Poirier and Joseph W. Fouche. Jean is survived by a son, Michael T. Poirier and his wife Naida; a daughter, Alice G. Poirier, all of Springfield; two granddaughters, Aimee-Jean McCarthy and Danielle N. Norris, both of St. Robert, MO; and five great grandchildren, Jayla, Elizabeth, Mykayla, Teshawn, and Isaac. A funeral home service will be held Saturday, March 31st at 1pm in the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard. Jean's family will receive relatives and friends prior to the services on Saturday from 11am-1pm.
