Jeanne M. Lata

Jeanne M. Lata 1943-2011 LUDLOW- Jeanne M. (Tondreau) Lata, 67, a life long Ludlow resident and recently of St. Petersburg, FL, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at home in the care of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on November 14, 1943, the daughter of the late Eugene J. and Irene E. (Roberge) Tondreau. Jeanne graduated from Ludlow High School in 1961. She was employed at Smith & Wesson from 1965-1996 where she held various clerical positions, and retired in 1996 in charge of the engineering records. Jeanne was a communicant of Christ the King Church, Ludlow, and a member of the Lady's Guild. She was also a communicant of St. Jerome Church, St. Petersburg, FL. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Lata in 1982; and a cousin, Charles Tondreau. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Susanne M. Rys of Ludlow; her fiancé and life long friend, Fred Biel of Wilbraham; her mother-in-law, Helen A. Lata of Greenfield; a brother-in-law, Mitchell Lata of Gill, MA; a nephew, Michael Lata of Charleston, SC; a niece, Michelle Savino of Staten Island, NY; seven cousins, Paul and Marc Tondreau of Rhode Island, Ken Tondreau of California, David Tondreau of Colorado; Daniel Burns and Joanne Lesco, both of Maine; and Carol Edwards of Florida. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 28th at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard. Jeanne's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Monday, June 27th from 5-8 p.m. at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard.
