JOHN R. HARRINGTON, SR. 1937 - 2009 CHICOPEE - John R. "Jack" Harrington, Sr., 71, died in a local nursing home on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. He was born in Springfield on November 25, 1937, a son of the late John M. and Viola I. (Roberts) Harrington. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956 through 1959. Jack was a long time Indian Orchard resident and currently resided in Chicopee. He retired in 2000 from Milton Bradley (Hasbro) after forty two years of service as a printer. He was a member of the Emerald Society and an Honorary Deputy Sheriff. He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Charlotte (Wood) Harrington, two sons, John R. Harrington Jr. and his wife Kellie of Springfield, and Robert McFetridge and his wife Nita of Maine. He also leaves his brother, Gene Harrington of Florida. He will be sadly missed by four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral procession will form at 9:45am on Monday, February 23 at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., in Indian Orchard, followed by committal services at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Sunday, February 22 from 2 - 6pm.
