Joseph B. Lauzon 1925-2010   SPRINGFIELD- Joseph Bernard Lauzon, 84, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Wingate at East Longmeadow.  Born in Springfield and a life long resident, he was the son of the late Ulric and Mary (Harrington) Lauzon.  Joseph was a retired thirty year machinist for the former Wallace Manufacturing Co of Enfield, CT.  He had previously worked at the Springfield Armory and Goodwill Industries.  Joseph was a Navy veteran of World War II.  A Seaman First Class he served aboard the USS Pollux, the USS Sederstrom and the USS Dickens.  He was awarded the American Area Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon with 4 Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.  He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield. He was a gentle and quiet man who loved his family and enjoyed staying home and watching television.  The Red Sox and Patriots were a favorite pastime along with listening to music.  Joseph was a member of the Friends Around the Corner group which congregated at the corner of White and Orange Streets in Springfield. Joseph leaves his beloved wife of sixty years, Mildred C. (Giroux) Lauzon, his loving daughter, Karen L. Gibson and her husband Randy of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jason Gibson and his wife Julii of Enfield, CT, Adam Gibson and his wife Danielle of Springfield and David Gibson of Springfield and three great grandchildren, Savannah, Quinn and Joel.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.  Calling hours will be held at the Ratell Funeral Home on Monday, February 1, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m. For Guest Book: ratellfuneralhome.com Ratell Funeral Home (413) 543-3836
