Joseph A. Patenaude

Joseph A. Patenaude, 59, of Chestnut Street passed away peacefully on December 1, 2020 at his home. Joseph was born at Walker Air Force in Roswell, New Mexico, a son to the late Hector Patenaude (d.1971) and Bertha (Roy) Patenaude of Springfield. The family moved to Springfield in 1966 and he attended local schools, graduating in 1980 from Putnam High School. Joseph joined the US Army after graduation, serving for four years before being honorably discharged and returning home. He was employed locally for many years and retired from 90 Meat Outlet in Springfield. Growing up, Joseph was a member of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He volunteered his time for many years with the UCF, United Cerebral Palsy Association.

He leaves his beloved mother, Bertha (Roy) Patenaude. His siblings; Pearl of Springfield, Sharon of Fitchburg and Bruce and his wife, Nariman of Seaford, NY. His children; Shanna and Michael Patenaude both of Westfield.  His nieces and nephews; Ariel Patenaude of Seaford, NY., Maria Ceballos of LaGrange, GA., John Santiago of Bellevue, NE and David Santiago of Lakeland, FLA. as well as four grandchildren. Joseph will be interred alongside his late father, Hector Patenaude, in St. Aloysius Cemetery at a later date. Catholic Rites of Committal and Military Honors will be accorded Joseph in keeping with his faith and for his service to his country. Ratell Funeral Home, Indian Orchard has been entrusted with arrangements.
