Julia May Andre passed away on February 3, 2016 at Colonial Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth, MA, 2 weeks short of her 94th birthday. Julia was born February 17, 1922 in Springfield, MA and spent most of her life in both Indian Orchard and Ludlow. Julia was the daughter of the late Julien and Sophia Phaneuf. Julia was married for 45 years to the late Acacio (Kayo) Andre and predeceased by her brother Donald Phaneuf. She is survived by her sister Gloria Gardner; her three sons Michael Andre and his wife Shirley in Waco, Texas, David Andre in Tampa, Florida and Jon and his wife Patricia in Williamsburg, VA; 7 grandchildren Michael Andre Jr., Jon Andre, Brandon Andre, Justin, Andre, Jennifer Leischner, Megan Parmar and Matthew Andre; 1 great-granddaughter Sonia Parmar. After working several years in the mills in Chicopee, Julia bought the Colonial Gift Shop, which she owned and operated in Ludlow for over 15 years. Julia was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Church, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother and a kind, loving person with a great sense of humor. Julia always strived to make everyone happy, whether relative, friend, neighbor or customer and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 with a calling hour from 10 -11am with a funeral home service at 11 am at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street Indian Orchard. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 4-6pm.
