SPRINGFIELD-Julio R. Ramos, 84, of the Indian Orchard Section of Springfield passed away peacefully on Sunday morning at home with his family at his side. Julio was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on July 15, 1934 the son of the late Evaristo Rosado & Juan Ramos. He was raised and educated in Puerto Rico and moved to this area many years ago. Julio was the Executive Chef for over 40 years at the Longmeadow Country Club before retiring. His beloved wife, Joan E. (Forkey) Ramos passed away in 1995. He leaves his daughters; Renee Ramos of Springfield and her two sons, Ethan and Garret Montagna, Christine Ramos of West Springfield and Julianne Ramos of West Springfield, his devoted canine companion, Max, four other grandchildren and the extended members of the Ramos and Forkey families. The family invites you to join them on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 for calling hours with a Service of Remembrance from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard. At Julio's request, he will be cremated and his ashes interred at St. Aloysius Cemetery at a private ceremony.
