June Ellen Douglas

CHICOPEE-June Ellen Douglas, 60, of Calvin St. in Chicopee passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018. June was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts on December 5, 1957, a daughter of William & Elsie Tapper.  She was raised and educated in Massachusetts and Vermont. She moved to the Springfield area, settling in Indian Orchard and had resided there for many years. June worked as a Roofer for a number of years for various companies here in the Valley. She was sadly predeceased by a daughter, Heidi Lewis and her sister, Jill Stefanowich. She leaves her sons; William Pieczarka of New Haven, CT.,  Joseph Pieczarka and Stephen Douglas both of Chicopee and her daughter, Sharee Piriz of Chicopee, nine grandchildren; Hannah, Haley and Cassandra Barth, Katelyn and Joseph Pieczarka, Journie Douglas, Arianna Kelly, Chad Kelly Jr, Jayden Berard, Hope Smith, Cecilia and Estefano Piriz. She also leaves two brothers; Jerry Tapper of Indian Orchard and John Tapper of Texas and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard from 4 to 6 p.m.  At Junes request she will be cremated and her interment will be private.
