Justina Tiago-Pereira

Justina Tiago-Pereira 1933-2011 INDIAN ORCHARD- Justina (Rasterio) Tiago-Pereira, 77, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2011 at home. She was born in Turquel, Portugal on October 7, 1933, a daughter of the late Manuel and Amelia (Santos) Martins. Justina was a communicant of St. Jude Church, Indian Orchard. She enjoyed traveling and going out to dinner with her family. Justina was predeceased by her first husband, Joaquim Tiago; her second husband, Jose Pereira; and a grandson, Shaun Tiago. She is survived by her eight children, George Tiago and his wife Diane of East Longmeadow, Eric Tiago and his wife Lorraine of Ludlow, Sidonio Tiago, Orlando Tiago, Jack Tiago, Maria Lavigne, Aurora Tiago, all of Indian Orchard, and Maria Stewart and her husband David of Ware;  15 grandchildren, Lisa, Maryann, Mark, Adam, Angela, Josh, Joseph, Jenna, Aimee, Brian, John, Eric, Tiana, Naomi, and Toni; 18 great-grandchildren; five brothers; four sisters;  many extended family members and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m.  in Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Rd., Springfield. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard.  Justina's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Tuesday, September 6th from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Justina's memory to Mercy Hospice, 1236 Main St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
