Karolyn E. Sulewski

Karolyn E. Sulewski, 74, of Chicopee slipped away peacefully from this world on Saturday, May 14, 2022 after a period of failing health. Karolyn was born in Holyoke, a daughter of the late Harvey C. and Dorothy (Opitz) Ruhf. She grew up in Springfield and was educated in local schools, graduating from Classical High School. She attended St. Joseph College and Holyoke Community College. Karolyn worked for many years as a Clerical Assistant with Monarch Insurance in Springfield. She then joined the Mt. Tom Social Club, working for many years as a Social Aide, helping the many clients in many aspects of their lives. She married Vincent E. Sulewski in Holyoke on October 4, 1975 and they celebrated 46 years together, recently renewing their wedding vows. Karolyn enjoyed crocheting and watching cooking shows and especially listening to Vincent play his accordion. She leaves her beloved husband, Vincent E. Sulewski of Chicopee. Her siblings; Thomas Ruhf and his wife Marjorie of Maryland and Louise Ruhf of Arizona. Her sister and brother in laws; Laura Pinsonneault (Donnie)  of Holyoke, Sally Cusson and Regina Guild (Gordon) of Chicopee, Joseph Sulewski Sr. (Carline)  of Springfield and Walter Sulewski (Karen) and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karolyn was predeceased by a brother, Robert Ruhf and sisters in law, Christine Baker, Marie Sulewski and brother in law, Paul Sulewski. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2022 FROM 10:00 TO 12 NOON. THERE WILL BE A RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT 11:45 A.M. FOLLOWED BY BURIAL AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE MASSACHUSETTS VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 1390 MAIN ST., AGAWAM, MA. 01085. The family asks that flowers be omitted and donations in Karolyn's memory be made to the Westfield River Valley Marine Corp League, 71 North Elm St., Westfield, Ma. 01085.
