Kathleen Anne Powers

Kathleen A. Powers 1966-2009   Kathleen Anne (Fitzgerald) Powers, 42, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at home.  Born in Springfield and a life long resident she was the daughter of John and Sheila (Caney) Fitzgerald.  Kathy was a graduate of Westfield State College and was a teacher for the Springfield School Department.  She was a science teacher at the Warner Elementary School on Parker Street.  Kathy enjoyed fishing and loved to visit Cape Cod and Rockport.  She is survived by her mother, Sheila (Caney ) Fitzgerald of Indian Orchard, her father, John "Jack" Fitzgerald of Southwick, a sister, Colleen Barry and her husband Tom and daughter Jennifer of Belchertown, and her brother Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Mindy and son Ian of West Springfield. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday evening, June 11, 2009 at the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 7:30 p.m. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas J.
