Kenneth R. O'Connor Sr., 80, of Indian Orchard passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center on August 4th with his family by his side. Born on May 20, 1936, to the late William and Antoinette (Gamache) O'Connor. He was employed by Milton Bradley/Hasbro as a lithographer for 53 years where he was known by his nickname, Okie and retired in 2005. Ken had a passion for gardening, his car and hockey. He was a longtime season ticketholder of the Springfield Falcons and attended those games with his daughter Kathleen. He was also an avid Boston Bruins fan. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Helen M. (Lafley) O'Connor; four children, Debra O'Connor of Springfield, Lori Holda and her husband James of Monson, Kenneth Jr. and his wife Ruth of Springfield, Kathleen O'Connor of Indian Orchard, a brother, William O'Connor of Springfield and a sister, Valerie Pusey of Texas, nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard O'Connor and his sister Beverly Lawlor. The family would like to thank the Indian Orchard Fire Department, the doctors and staff at Mercy Hospital and Cindy with Mercy Home Care.
