Lena Yvonne Chenevert

Lena Chenevert 1914-2010 PALMER - Lena Yvonne (Stebbins) Chenevert, 95, of Palmer entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 17, 2010 in the loving presence and care of her family.  Born in Springfield and a Ludlow resident for many years before moving to Palmer, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Etiennette (Lemieux) Stebbins.  Lena was a loving wife, mother and home maker.  She loved to cook and bake with home made brownies a family favorite.  Lena was an avid gardener.  She had a special knack with roses and lilly of the valley.  She enjoyed playing bingo and being part of that social group.  Lena was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish at St. John the Baptist Church in Ludlow and was a member of the parish Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. She was predeceased by her husband Edmond Chenevert; two sons, Edmond Chenevert, Jr., and David Chenevert; a daughter, Jeanne Marie Chenevert and siblings, Rita Rollend, Irene Spafford and Julliette Stebbins.  Lena leaves her children; Leo Chenevert and his wife Carol of Ware, Geraldine Mariani of Monson, William Chenevert and his wife Kellie of Tariffville, CT and Irene Carron and her husband Walter of Palmer; her siblings, Alice Rollend of Springfield, Theresa Sideleau of Wilbraham, Christine Chenier of Ludlow, Theodore Stebbins of Ludlow and Betty McCarthy of Long Island, NY; (15) grandchildren, (22) great grandchildren, (5) great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Parish at St. John the Baptist Church, Ludlow at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard. Family will greet friends and relatives on Tuesday morning December 21, 2010 at the Ratell Funeral Home at a gathering from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Quaboag Valley Hospice 42B Wright St., Palmer, MA  01069.
