Lillian R. Jerome

Lillian R. Jerome, 80, formerly of Michael St. in Ludlow passed away peacefully on Thursday evening at Evergreen health Care Center after a period of failing health. Lillian was born in Holyoke, a daughter of the late Roland and Florence (Dumas) Gagnon. She was raised and educated there and attended local schools. She enlisted in the USMC, proudly serving from 1959 to 1961. Lillian was a PFC, serving as Superintendent Supply Clerk at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After her honorable discharge, she returned home and worked for many years at Toy R Us and later McDonalds Restaurant in Springfield. Lillian was a devoted catholic and was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow. Lillian was married for 50 years to the late Louis P. "Louie" Jerome who passed away on July 17, 2017. She leaves her children; Nicole M. Jerome of Enfield, CT., Louis P. Jerome Jr. of Chicopee, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She leaves her siblings; Frank Yacubeck, Roland Paquette and Christina Kenny as well as many nieces and nephews. Lillian was sadly predeceased by a son, Alan Jerome and her siblings; Ronald, Eugene, Harold, Kenneth, Frederick, Edmund, Leroy, Leo, Loretta and Florence. A RELIGIOUS SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2021 AT 10:00 A.M. AT RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD WITH MONSIGNOR HOMER GOSSELIN, OFFICIANT. A Calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Interment of Lillian's ashes with full military honors will immediately follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Berkshire Ave., Indian Orchard.
