Loraine Eva Dion

Chicopee-Lorraine Eva (Ladue) Dion, 86, of Honeysuckle Drive in Chicopee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was born in Springfield on June 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Osman and Eva (Therien) Ladue. She was raised and educated in Springfield and attended local schools. A longtime resident of the Orchard, Lorraine worked for a number of years at the Food Warehouse in Shrewsbury, Book Press in Ludlow and at Clarks in Indian Orchard.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, word puzzles, sewing, crocheting, scrabble and crafts. She loved going to breakfast with her grandson, David and taking a chance with her scratch tickets.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Maurice P. Dion and her siblings; Roland, Osman, Raymond, Estelle, Irene, Theresa and Doris. She leaves her children; Maurice Dion Jr. and wife, Kay, of the Orchard, Deborah Yelle and her late husband, Daniel, of Ludlow, Danielle Dion-Korell and husband, Roger, of Chicopee; Her seven grandchildren; David, Lorin, Jason, Kim, Jaime who predeceased her, Becky and Olivia; Her seven great grandchildren; Alura, Asher, Imogen, Devon, Christopher, Raven and Zachary; One great-great grandson, Damien and her "grand-dog," Lilly. The family invites you to join them for calling hours on Sunday September 30, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard. A Religious Service and Time of Remembrance will be held at 3:45 p.m. at the Funeral home. At Lorraine's request, she will be cremated and her burial services will be private.
