WORCESTER- Lucille (St. Martin) Malenfant, 97, formerly of Parkerview Street in Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Oasis at Dodge Park in Worcester. Lucille was born in St. Marcel, Quebec, Canada on April 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Odilon and Marie Rose (Bélisle) St. Martin. She attended school, received a Teaching degree, and taught in Quebec, Canada. After immigrating to the United States, Lucille worked as a seamstress for many years in Indian Orchard. She was married to the late Homer Malenfant and they enjoyed many years of marriage, family, and happiness. She was a communicant of the former St. Aloysius Church in Indian Orchard. Lucille especially enjoyed gardening and flowers. Her home was always decorated with fresh-cut flowers from her gardens. Lucille leaves her devoted son, Paul Malenfant of Shrewsbury, and his partner Virginia Marchant; Her dear sisters in Canada: Rachel and Odile St. Martin; Her godchild & niece Lucie Bradway of Springfield, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Fall River, MA, and Canada. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was predeceased by her brothers: Vitorin, Jean-Marie, Judes, Bernard, Joseph and Henri-Louis St. Martin and sisters: Fabionna, Zita, Réjeanne and Yolande.
CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD AT RATELL FUNERAL HOME, 200 MAIN ST., INDIAN ORCHARD, MA. ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, 2022 FROM 10:00 TO 11:00 A.M. FOLLOWED BY A RELIGIOUS SERVICE AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME. CATHOLIC RITES OF COMMITTAL WILL FOLLOW IN HILLCREST PARK CEMETERY, PARKER ST., SPRINGFIELD.
