Mafalda "Dottie" Calvanese1927-2014SPRINGFIELD- Mafalda "Dottie" Calvanese (Ricardi), 86, passed away at her home in Springfield on April 14, 2014.  Dottie was born on November 23, 1927 to the late Alfredo and Lucia (Tebaldi) Ricardi.  She married the late Louis Calvanese, and was a homemaker for many years raising her two sons.  Dottie was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Springfield.  Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially her grandson.  Dottie is predeceased by two brothers, Reno and Sevino Ricardi, and two sisters, Sevina Solomon and Silvia Bedinotti.  She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Calvanese and his wife Teresa of Springfield and John Calvanese and his wife Donna of Ludlow; one grandson, Anthony Calvanese; one brother, Alfredo Ricardi Jr. and his wife Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.  Services for Dottie will be Saturday, April 19 at Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St, Indian Orchard, beginning with calling hours from 9-10am, followed by a funeral home service at 10am, and a committal service at St. Michael's Cemetery, St. Joan Section, 1601 State St., Springfield.
