Marion M. Surprenant1921-2015Marion "Grams" M. (Shea) Surprenant, 93, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 11, 2015. She was born in Springfield on August 9, 1921, a daughter of the late John and Julia (Kusiak) Shea. Marion retired in 1986 from U.S. Envelope Company in Springfield. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Parish and the former St. Mary's Church, both in Ludlow. Marion loved to crochet, and her crocheting could be seen throughout many local Senior Centers which she was very active. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis P. Surprenant on January 2, 1973. Marion is survived by three children, Robert J. Surprenant and his wife Linda of Muskego, WI, Eileen L. Beaudoin and her husband Roland of Ware, MA and Janice L. Gagne and her husband Maurice, with whom Marion lived, of Ludlow; a brother, Roland Shea and his wife Gert of Ludlow; six grandchildren, Renee and her husband Joe, Nicholas, Benjamin, Matthew, Timothy and his wife Kendra, and Sarah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15th beginning at 10 a.m. from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St. Indian Orchard, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Community of St. Elizabeth's Parish in St. John the Baptist Church, 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1275 Berkshire Ave. Indian Orchard. Visitation will precede the services on Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
