Mildred Cecilia Lauzon

Mildred C. Lauzon 1928-2010   SPRINGFIELD -  Mildred Cecilia (Giroux) Lauzon, 81, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2010.  Born in Ludlow and a life long resident of Springfield she was the daughter of the late Edward "Pickett" Giroux and Cecilia (Dunne) Giroux.  Mildred was a graduate of Cathedral High School of Springfield.  She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her main priority was her family and providing a home filled with love and a mother's warmth.  She enjoyed various crafts and possessed a gift for writing poetry.  She had the good fortune of having some of her poetry published.  Mildred was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church.  She leaves her daughter, Karen L. Gibson and her husband Randy of Springfield; three grandchildren, Jason Gibson and his wife Julii of Enfield, CT, Adam Gibson and his wife Danielle of Springfield, David Gibson of Springfield and three great grandchildren, Savannah, Quinn and Joel.  Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Joseph B. Lauzon who passed last week on January 28th. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.  Calling hours will be held at the Ratell Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions in Mildred's memory may be made to Mercy Hospice 1236 Main St., Holyoke, MA  01040 or the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701-9376.  For Guest Book:ratellfuneralhome.com Ratell Funeral Home (413) 543-3836
