Patricia A. Woodbury 1931-2009 Patricia Ann (Rockhill) Woodbury, 77, of Springfield, peacefully left this life on March 8, 2009 in the loving care of her family to join her husband, son and other departed family and friends in the glory of God's heavenly kingdom. Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Helen K. (Lundholm) Rockhill. A graduate of Saugus High School, Patricia attended Garland Junior College in Boston. She married her husband, Lester Woodbury in 1950 and settled in Springfield in 1959. Patricia returned to school at the former Springfield Trade School where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an OB/GYN nurse at the former Wesson Women's Hospital and with migrant children in the Holyoke school system. Patricia also worked as a pastry chef at the Yankee Pedlar in Holyoke and as a cook for the convent and rectory at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Pat was a creative woman who was devoted to her family and catholic faith. She had an incredible zest for life and was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress, quilter and an accomplished pianist and singer. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and dancing. Besides her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Lester Woodbury, her son, Stephen, her step-mother, Gladys Rockhill, her great grandson Samuel Varndell and brother Alfred Rockhill. Pat leaves her children Lynne (Daniel) Moriarty of Springfield, Kristine (Raymond) Muise of Palmer, Jayne (Richard) Kaskeski of Brimfield, Susan (Lance) Green of Springfield, Mary (Donald) Sicard of Southwick, Jean (Denis) Ledoux of Springfield, Judith Holland of San Simeon, CA , Anne (Martin) Ambrose of Wilbraham and Joseph (Keri) Woodbury of West Springfield; her grandchildren, Kara (John) Wadlegger, Lisa Muise and her companion Daniel Assad, Liane (Joseph) Comeau, Christopher Muise, Michael & David Frates, Becky (Harold) Varndell, Amy (Robert) Frazier, Donald and Stephen Sicard, Nathan & Jeremy Ledoux, Joshua Holland, Austin & Addison Woodbury and great grandchildren; Patrick, Jack & Hope Murphy, Claire Wadlegger, Alora Assad, Daniel & Timothy Varndell, Robert Frazier and step-granddaughter Teri Moriarty and step-great granddaughter Kassy Frazier; several nieces & nephews and her precious terrier, Puka. The family extends our thanks to the staff of Wingate at Springfield with special thanks to Unit 4, Christy, Roberta, Karen and Tracy and to Baystate VNA & Hospice. The world has lost an angel as heaven welcomes her. There will be a celebration of Pat's life on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Springfield.
