Pauline C. Benware

Pauline C. Benware 1928-2009   Pauline C. (Balboni) Benware, 80, of Indian Orchard, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009.  Born in Indian Orchard and a life long resident, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha (Chamberlain) Balboni.  Pauline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a dedicated communicant of the former St. Matthew's Church of Indian Orchard and was a member the choir and parish council. She served as parish council chairperson and was a den leader for several years of the local Boy Scouts of America.  She was a past member of the Indian Orchard Citizens Council.  Pauline enjoyed braiding, having tag sales and going to flea markets.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harwood N. Benware, by her daughter Marie Olsen, brothers, Frederick Balboni and Joseph Balboni and sisters Evelyn Wilson and Theresa Fitzgerald-Gossman.  Pauline leaves her children, James Benware of Burlington, VT, Gary Benware of Springfield, Paul Benware and wife Debbie of Plattsburg, NY, Mark Benware of South Burlington, VT, Karl Benware of Palmer; a brother George Balboni of Springfield, seven sisters Aurelia Balboni of Springfield, Arlean Nummy of Ludlow, Alice Davis of Oregon, Rose Graves of Rhode Island, Victoria Boger of Florida, Sr. Mary Ambrose, Sisters of the Presentation, of Leominster, Nellie Jarvais of Agawam, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2009 from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 8:45 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church 219 Plumtree Rd., Springfield at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard.  Calling hours will be on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA  01104.
